In 2012 The Science Museum received a confirmed award of £6 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a new gallery, Making Making Modern Communications. It will tell the story of 200 years of innovation in communication technology and focuses on how people connect and share information with each other. The gallery is set to open in Autumn 2014.
